I have had ATT TV service set up for more than a week so far. An equivalent bundle through Comcast would be almost double what I am paying AT-T’s TV service. I greatly appreciate U-Verse extending a practical complete bundle that refrains from nailing customers with a bunch of miscellaneous charges. 3 receivers (1 with DVR capabilities) are built in the price. HD included for free for one year - only $10 per year after the promotional point terminates… not bad considering U-Verse offers at least twice the number of HD channels that Comcast provides in Indianapolis.
Channel changing is pretty quick. Almost as rapid as analog cable. On Demand (Pay-per-view) content is decent but not near the selection provided by other providers. I had a party the night after installment - the guys wanted to watch UFC, but U-Verse wasn’t carrying it. When I called, the agent I spoke with had received many similar calls.
Equipment mostly functions as publicized. Right now, there are only 4 TV flows ready in the closest market. I have only run out of streams once - even after adding all 42 of my shows tapings from my Comcast box! (You can access some of your DVR’s settings from your personal U-Verse AT&T homepage - decent feature). I do not have high def, thus no need.
Viewing an HD channel takes up 2 streams - the remaining streams can only be used for standard definition networks. It seems, a increase of the number of TV streams happening at the end of the year. In addition, AT&T TV will be imparting the ability to view DVR shows from any device.
